Baroque for the Brain, Volume 1 and 2
Performed by Various Artists

If you are easily distracted, baroque music can be a very helpful tool to keep you on track. In a three year research study, Maya Ruvinshteyn and Leonard Parrino, math instructors at Essex County College and Rutgers-Newark, found when they played baroque background music in their classes:

* 86% of students surveyed enjoyed class more with baroque background music, whereas 76% of students without any music found the class enjoyable.
* 33% of students found math challenging, whereas 46% in the class without the baroque music found it challenging.

Earlier research findings show that Baroque music enhances learning of foreign languages and improves performance in some types of tests.

Why Baroque music? Some researchers believe that, because baroque music pulses between 50 to 80 beats per minute, it somehow stabilizes mental, physical and emotional rhythms. This stabilization helps the listener to achieve a state of deeper concentration and focus, especially in situations where large amounts of information need to be processed and learned.

Must Have!Review by Henri
A must have selection of classical Baroque music for students and anyone else who is trying to improve their memory. I listen to this quite a bit while doing homework and I am able to focus better and learn quicker. Only wish it was longer. (Posted on 12/1/2015)
I'd definitely recommend this product!Review by TalkingHands
This is high class Baroque music. It's great as background music during the day, or as music to sit down and listen to in a more focused way. When I listen to it everyday I notice myself feeling more energetic and happy! (Posted on 12/1/2015)
Top Quality Music SelectionReview by Cameron
I love listening to this collection of baroque music! Both CDs have peaceful, calming music and come with a nice variety of instruments and song selections from the baroque genre. I like listening to music while I work because it keeps my mind focused on the tasks at hand. I find these CDs to have a nice blend of familiar songs with others than I haven't heard as often. I appreciate that the songs are ordered in a way to be both pleasant and interesting. I really enjoy the tasteful selection of featured instruments on these CDs. It's nice to have several concertos for the violin and then switching to oboe or mandolin to give variety.

Whether or not you're a "classical music" fan, you'll appreciate the high quality of the recordings and the variety of composers that are included on these CDs. I'd say these are a must have for doctor and dentist offices, for college students, or anyone interested in quality music that will relax and improve the mental faculties. (Posted on 11/30/2015)
